"Common today are people of all ages chatting on cell phones while driving, shopping at the mall or going about daily activities. Not long ago, cellular phones were considered a luxury item or a product for use in only emergencies. Today, more than 196 million Americans subscribe to wireless communication technology services. The wireless communication industry has developed in to a multi-billion dollar industry in a rapid amount of time. In order to discern the economic impact of the wireless communication technology industry, one must review the history of the industry. The strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats (SWOTT) should also be analyzed. Additionally, the impact of the real gross domestic product, unemployment rate, and inflation rate for the industry should be examined."
