Summary

From the Paper:

"Transactional leaders seek immediate results through formal authority while transformational leaders see their role as enabling their subordinates to excel. As a result of their focus more on assisting subordinates to excel and less on demanding compliance to what are seen by many subordinates as orders, transformational leaders inspire their subordinates to achieve shared goals with a higher level of commitment than transactional leaders. Transformational leaders are more adept at making organizational transformations permanent by relying on these four dominant approaches to managing their teams."
