From the Paper:"The Halo Effect has several meanings within the study of Organizational Behaviour. (Handy: 1985:23-24) Individuals can be assessed according to a cognitive bias so that a person good at function X is assumed to be able to carry out function Y, and attractive people can seem far more competent than many are, given the human tendency to assess others in terms of attributes that are Good or Bad as opposed to `mixed'. Solomon Asch found that an appealing personality could very much influence how the rest of a human being was evaluated, an assumption seeming part of human nature that an attractive person will have attractive character traits or talents."
