While the ultimate outcome remains to be seen, the paper argues that MacDonald's eagerness to pursue new product lines against well-entrenched adversaries is more a case of the company giving the public what it thinks the public wants - instead of what it really wants; after all, when it comes to things like fajitas and pizza, it is hard to say that there is a great public demand for MacDonald's products.
