This paper explains how Sun Microsystems integrates marketing, management and technology into one effective business strategy. Sun Microsystems participation in such events as the 1995 creation of Disney's "Toy Story," the first all computer_generated feature film, and 1996's "24 Hours in Cyberspace," an online event dubbed the largest online event in history, created by Against All Odds Productions and Sun Microsystems, provides marketing and public relations boosts for the company while expanding on their computer technology (Sun, 2002). Sun Microsystems not only provides technology - or computer systems, but also in helping the uses of such systems in public events such as "24 Hours in Cyberspace," and cultural events such as "Toy Story," Sun allows its name to be linked to technology in the public mind (Mahoney, 2001). Similarly, Sun combines with other companies to help further its marketing strategy. In 1996, Sun pooled resources with the House of Blues to deliver interactive entertainment for watchers of the Olympic games. In 1997, Sun combined its talents with that of NASA to produce an interactive application allowing Internet users to become so called "virtual participants" in NASA's Mars mission (Mahoney, 2001)."
