Description:
The paper discusses how humans do not have to be selfish to explain wars. The paper looks at how according to Morgenthau (1978), good motives give assurance against deliberately bad policies; they do not guarantee the moral goodness and political success of the policies they inspire. Moreover, the paper explains the view that political realism presents the theoretical construct of a rational foreign policy which experience can never completely achieve based on fallacious motives and ideological preferences.
