This paper describes the physiological process of muscle movement, describing the roles of muscles during movement, and the mechanisms of action involved. The paper explains the three types of muscle movement.

From the Paper:

"Muscles move by contracting and they are differentiated into various types of muscle to produce coordinated movement. Muscles serve various roles during movement. At any point in a movement, there are muscles that are mainly responsible for movement; the agonists, muscles that assist prime movers; the synergists, and muscles that oppose prime movers; the antagonists.
