"There are many factors that have called for a redefinition of traditional marketing terms. The most important would be the placement of traditional ads. As an example, with the use of DVR(digital video recorders) being commonplace in the everyday home the consumers have the ability to make themselves immune to the traditional television commercial. This combined with Satellite radio and web news sources provides an environment that is virtually advertisement free. This evolutionary trend calls for the development of new tactics in getting advertisement to the consumer as well as new methods in the deployment of such ads. Some of these nontraditional methods might include; spam, web-casting, tweets, web only promotions, and pop-up ads. These types of e-advertisements are both low cost and effective, creating a new advertisement environment that both user specific and interest orientated."
