From the Paper:

"Natural resources are fast dwindling, making the continuous availability of raw material and energy a question mark for the organizations of today. For example, Coco cola is finding problem of getting the basic requirement of water for its production unit in South India. Lot of restrictions and conditions are imposed on all the activities of organizations like production, transportation, storage ext., by the Governments in order to minimize the adverse impact on environment. Today's management needs to take the impacts of its operations on the environment more seriously than ever in order to fulfill the statuary requirements as well as social responsibilities."
