This paper analyzes the framework that builds e-banking and points out its high pricing structure. The paper explores e-banking variables and finds that despite its functions and utility, the e-banking development stages have not been standardized. The paper concludes that e-banking has shortened its short chain of distribution but not without a price levied on it.

"The need of e-banking stemmed from corporate users who roam around the globe to the individual users over a period of 5 years. This span of transition has changed the structure of banking from corporate and individual clients to retailers, investors and consumers [Figure A]. As we see from the figure, there are two areas where the framework is the same. At the entry level where customers send in requests through Internet basically known as channels of entry and deliveries [Authentication in an Electronic Banking Environment, July 30, 2001]. Here channel of deliveries and entry means where the customers requests for information, take out their cash or transfer their funds. Then one look at the end of the chain of framework where accounting and general ledger is the same."However, due to the nature of Information Technology of e-banking and e-commerce, the process of banking itself has changed to include retailers, investors and consumers to become its customers. Services have diversified and enhanced. However one must also note that with diversification, variable costs have also changed this structure [will be discussed in the next section]. As a result of this, e-banking channels of distribution and entries and its overall system is differentiated from its traditional bankers."
