From the Paper:"There were a number of reasons English settlers migrated to North America in the early sixteen hundreds. A large number of them were frustrated over what they saw as the increasing corruption and hypocrisy of the government and the Church of England. A majority migrated to North America due to religious persecution and the desire for religious tolerance, something unknown in England. Like their Spanish and French counterparts, the English also came to America in search of opportunities, due to its vast resources..."
