The paper relates that the history of Puerto Rican culture is inextricably tied to the cultures of the three nations that went into it and asserts that while native cultures often seem to be lost in many countries as they develop, the island of Puerto Rico seems to have been able to preserve much of the Taino influence in their traditional foods, music, and dance.
