In particular, it looks at how the Area Agency on Aging 10B, Inc. in Summit County, Ohio offers services necessary to help the senior citizens in Northeast Ohio stay in their homes and communities longer.

"Funding for the agency itself comes from Medicaid and Medicare for those who receive it. However, the foundation has to raise donations. Their main fundraiser is Care for a Lifetime which involves asking for donations for those who otherwise have no other monetary means of help. They have an annual raffle that has been a huge success in bringing in the necessary funding to help the people they want to reach. Money at the agency end comes from Medicaid, Older American's Act and other federal, state and local programs. They have over $70 million in revenue at this time. These monies get paid out to various different agencies that perform the care necessary to help the elderly remain in the community. They have incentive programs wherein employees and volunteers alike participate in fund raising activities. Contingency planning has put this agency on the road to accepting "risk-based contracts for Medicaid Long Term Care in a capitalized system," and by partnering with other area agencies, they believe pooling resources will help them achieve this goal (Area Agency on Aging 10B, Inc., 2010, p. 17).
