All of these situations, as well as the current economic climate, have been leading up to Chrysler's current financial crisis. Their recent declaration of bankruptcy may be a shock to many, who see the Detroit automobile companies as one of the cornerstones of the American economy. But to those people who have studied the company's history, their current situation is of no surprise."
