"According to the National Center for Disease Control (CDC), "ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) is a neurobehavioral disorder characterized by pervasive inattention and/or hyperactivity-impulsivity and resulting in significant functional impairment." The CDC reports that 4.4 million children ages 4-17, have been diagnosed with ADHD by a medical professional. In 2003, 2.5 million were being treated with medication (CDC).
