What is Accounting?
Accounting is a process of recording, analyzing, reporting, and summarizing business and financial transactions. People in charge of this process, or who perform accounting work, are called accountants. To become an accountant, you must complete a bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field. To become a certified public accountant (CPA), which carries more weight than just an accountant, you must pass a CPA exam. CPA licensing is monitored by the state. The purpose of accounting is to help businesses and individuals keep track of their finances using quantifiable factors.
Accounting Fields
There are a number of different fields of accounting, such as financial accounting, managerial accounting, cost accounting, and the practice of accounting has a rather long history. It has been around for as long as civilization itself and has influenced the development of currency, writing, banking, trade, and the global economy to name just a few areas.
Accounting Papers
Because of this vast and varied background, there are a lot of options for anyone interested in learning and writing about accounting. You might choose to write financial accounting papers, management accounting papers, papers on accounting theory, accounting fraud, and more. Whatever the area of accounting you choose for a topic, the accounting paper that you write will need to demonstrate your knowledge and understanding of accounting methods and principles. Your research and your own ideas about the particular accounting topic will need to be stated, explained, and analyzed in your paper. As such, when writing an accounting paper, expect to not only define the topic of your paper, but also to explore its significance to the fields of accounting and business as a whole.
