Description:

This paper is a research proposal for a study that seeks to find out what it is that engineering students truly need from the options that are available, what works the best for the maximum number of people, and what kinds of educational opportunities these individuals in the engineering curriculum can use most effectively. The writer explains that how a student is taught in high school can facilitate success in college-level engineering and technology programs as hypothesized by Project Lead The Way (PLTW). Next, the author relates a literature review that includes not only information about engineering education but also general preparatory eduction. The paper details the survey methodology to be used, including the sample requirements and questions for teachers and students.

From the Paper:

"For many years engineering teachers have been frustrated at the evaluations on a cursory level that they get regarding their performance as these are often conducted by site administrators that are very busy. In other words, these engineering teachers do not really learn much from what is said regarding their performance by these individuals. It has also been reported that a great many of these engineering teachers are now looking to extend what they consider to be the concept of authentic assessment farther than just their engineering students."
