This paper presents a research proposal to identify pertinent traits that characterize effective leaders in various societal settings. The importance of these outcomes relates to the increasingly multicultural society in the United States and the forces that are fueling globalization of the marketplace. The paper provides a review of the relevant peer-reviewed and scholarly literature concerning organizational culture in general as well as a discussion of cultural aspects of organizational leadership. The paper also presents an assessment of the relationship between organizational leadership and society. A description of the methodology to be used for the study follows the assessment.
