The paper aims to explore the overall effectiveness advertising has on consumers, specifically on portable music players. The focus of the survey is on the silhouetted iPod advertisement. The proposed survey addresses the problem statement by asking a variety of questions that elicit a number of different responses. The main research question for this survey asks whether the infamous silhouetted iPod advertisement has been effective in increasing Apple profits and launching new iPod products such as the iPod shuffle. The paper relates that each participant will have viewed the silhouetted iPod advertisement prior to being questioned, and to answer this question, a 12-question survey will help guide the research study.
