Description:
This paper deals exclusively with nature of solar power, detailing both its most basic theories and common applications. The paper describes the methods of converting solar energy into electricity and includes detailed diagrams and illustrations. This writer concludes with his personal opinion that the conversion of the sun's energy into hydrogen seems to be the most promising approach, since hydrogen can be easily transported from the energy plant to metropolitan areas.
From the Paper:
"Most of our energy today comes from resources called Energy Capital. These are fuels and sources of power that once used, cannot be readily replaced. They include Fossil Fuels (coal, petroleum, and natural gas), Geothermal Energy, Nuclear Fission, and Nuclear Fusion. Nuclear Fission and its elusive counterpart, Fusion, are considered Energy Capital because of the immense amount of nuclear byproducts such plants produce. The consensus is that the world can only support a finite amount of nuclear byproducts safely, therefore eventually constricting the use of Nuclear Energy. Nuclear Fusion, as widely known, has not yet been developed. Estimates for the implementation of Fusion have ranged between fifty years to never. If the nuclear byproducts problem is ever solved and Nuclear Fusion is developed, we would have enough Deuterium in our oceans to supply energy for millions of years."Cite this Research Paper:
