Description:
This paper explains that the pharmaceutical industry has been a strong part of the nation's economy; however, the current continued decline in the economy has taken its toll on what had appeared to be an indestructible giant. In addition to print and Internet sources, the author interviewed two representatives from two different fields of pharmaceutical sales of Salt Lake City companies. The paper relates that the pharmaceutical industry has reacted to the economic downturn by tightened PhRMA and AMA sales guidelines, mergers, layoffs and downsizing.
