From the Paper:
"Lastly, the fourth prong of the Missouri Division of Youth Service's strategic plan is their educational programs. Accredited education services are offered to all youth, by fully certified teachers. The youth attend school full-time, year round, with instruction being received in core subject areas including: science, math, communication arts, and social studies. Other educational areas youth may receive credit in are: physical education, fine arts, health, and a variety of electives. Curriculums are based upon the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education standards. For those youth needing special education services, Individual Education Plans are developed, with education received by certified special education teachers. Vocational education is also offered, with recent funding to build vocational buildings and purchase vocational equipment and programs, to provide important job skills to the youth in their custody."Sample of Sources Used:
