"In terms of absolute numbers, Haitians settling in the United States are not great in comparison to the nation's population. Haitian immigrants, however, do bring with them significant and special problems with which both they and the nation must deal. Not least among these problems are those related to education for Haitian children and adolescents immigrating to the United States.
