The paper argues that from infancy, the female gender is taught to act in ways that are acceptable to the culture that she is associated with, and, the older a female becomes, the more intensified the expectations of family, culture and society become. The paper then discusses how in many Hispanic cultures within the United States, women are expected to be homemakers and care for their husbands, rather than seek educational opportunities or employment. The paper discusses how these women are taught that the males are the dominant creatures in the world and that to oppose them is culturally unacceptable.
From the Paper:"The role of women has been changing throughout history; women have always aimed for a recognized place in society. Today the spread of global women's organizations and the impact of women's contributions to society show that progress has been made. The need of the woman who stays at home, raising children will differ widely from the high flyer minded careerist."
