The paper shows how the argument for the henotheism of Nabonidus has been supported through the archeological evidence provided in the "Nabonidus Cylinder from Sippar" and through the subjective "monotheistic" bias of 20th century historiography. The paper evaluates the complex religious relationships that Nabonidus found in the "Cylinder", and demonstrates how the appropriations for honor and worship for temple repair were pertinent to his worship of Sin, but more importantly to the worship of Samas and Anunitu.
