This paper argues that religious studies/diversity should be introduced in elementary school towards greater curiosity and learning with a natural approach to unfamiliar traditions. The paper contends that the work of introducing young students to the topic of religion in the community can also be beneficial for adults. The paper points out that strangely, those to theorise on all matters of race, gender, ethnicity, class or other difference have long avoided religions and the natural interest children are apt to have.
From the Paper:"Elementary education in Canada should have attended far earlier to subjects of religious diversity, encouraging an introduction to world religions or the religions apt to be encountered by young people in one province, or territory, or another. At this paper explains, beyond more political or ideological arguments stressing diversity to which one grows accustomed in Canada, studies of different religions can provide quite young students with subjects that interest them, all the while equipping them to ask about traditions that draw their curiosity."
