"I have only been in the United States for six years but I have had many challenging experiences which taught me self-discipline. It also afforded me to have a strong work ethics and enabled me to be a fast learner and an assertive person. During high school, I became a fast learner and hard worker because I needed to overcome language barrier. In the beginning, I could not comprehend even Basic English. It took me less than two years of studying and practicing before I eventually learnt to communicate in English. Throughout my college years, I developed into a more assertive and confident individual by gaining knowledge on different subject matters. These improvements came as a result of my hard work and perseverance. The core value of education for me is to strengthen myself through knowledge and work diligently toward my academic goal. I have always believed my future progress is always dependent on good education. By majoring in philosophy, I am able to acquire the reasoning skills needed to understand legal theory. Further, attaining a Paralegal certification from Brooklyn College was to have contributed a measurable progress for the future. Above all, those are interrelated set of priorities to help me follow my goals."
