This paper gives an overview of the author's career and achievements serving in the US Army. He describes this from his enlistment to his retirement due to medical reasons. Additionally, the author tells of his deployments to Afghanistan and Iraq and his promotions in rank. From the paper, one gets the impression that the author is proud of his achievements in serving his country.

"Upon my arrival at Fort Campbell I was assigned to the 187th Infantry Regiment. My first day in the unit I was informed by my First Sergeant that I was attending " Air Assault" school the next day. I had never even heard of this training but I said "roger First Sergeant" and went off to school the next day. That was the hardest training that I have ever had. It was 11 days of pure hell capped off by a 14 mile road march on day 12. I went on to finish several schools while at Fort Campbell including Airborne, Pre Ranger and several advanced marksmanship courses. I spent the first three year of my career at Fort Campbell before being reassigned to the 4th Infantry Division at Fort Hood Texas."I arrived at Fort Hood Texas on September 10th 2001 a day before the World Trade Center attack. After the attack we were on 24 hour lock down complete with roving guard shift. That lasted for about a month until we boarded a plane for Afghanistan in October of 2011. Upon arriving in country we were charged with sitting up a forward operating base and processing detainees. This was the first of 4 deployments. I returned to Texas in March of 2002 and left again in August of 2003 for the initial invasion of Iraq. I didn't really see much action. Our mission was to escort supplies from Kuwait to various Forward Operating Bases in Iraq. This deployment ended in November of 2004 and I was reassigned to the 18th Military Police Brigade at Fort Bliss Texas."
