Description:

This paper explains that the author loves to see the looks of amazement on children's face when they hear a good story being read to them. The author's education and work experience gave him the chance finally to see how important it is for anyone working in education to promote life-long learning through books. The paper concludes that, from the author's own experience, it is the teacher's duty to provide children at an early age with a solid groundwork in reading and English so that they do not dislike or even fear books but rather can feel comfortable learning from them.

From the Paper:

"My own relationship with books has been rather hit and miss over the years. I was a terrible English student, and I dropped out of high school at sixteen because I thought I could get by in the world without an education and without reading books. But then I took a job at a used bookstore and I fell in love. I fell in love with words, I fell in love with ideas, I fell in love with everything I didn't know in the world and I felt that I could never read enough books or ever stop learning."
