From the Paper:

"Interpersonal Relationship: The type of relationship discussed in this paper is a friendship. Interpersonal relationships can be fleeting or enduring and serve to fulfill one or more physical or emotional need. This was an interpersonal relationship because it was enduring for several years and served to fulfill the emotional needs for friendship, companionship, and a semblance of maternal love for myself. For the other party, I believe I fulfilled her needs for companionship and a rapt listener, as her religion and opinions tended to alienate her from developing relationships outside of her church.
"Development: I met Jeanie while in my late teens. She was standing in the hallway of an apartment building, enthusiastically witnessing her faith and attempting to pass out religious literature. Her goal was to gain Bible students who would listen to her and eventually convert. Unfortunately, she was having little luck. It seems most people outside of her church are skeptical or downright opposed to her particular faith. The location of the building in which I met her was no different. Most people were ignoring her, making fun of her, or being rude. Still, she persevered; her pride and mission unfettered. Curious and felling a bit sorry for this woman, I started a conversation that would lead to several years of visits and a difficult friendship that would eventually end."
