Introductory Discussion Shamanism or Mu reached the Korean peninsula with early migrations from elsewhere and demonstrates beliefs and practices that are also found in Siberia, Manchuria, Mongolia, various parts of China and Japan. As this paper indicates, as a kind of subtext, similarities in shamanism should help insight into a kind of arc across cultures extending from Central Asia to the Inuit of Arctic Canada and Greenland.
