The paper discusses a mythical new agency sponsored by the United Nations; the United Nation's Combat Social Ills through Sports Participation (UNCSITSP) program. This paper compares the new agency to the scope of the General Association of International Sports Federations (GAISF) the International Olympic Committee (IOC), pointing out the differences. From the Paper:"International sports for promoting social awareness: In 1945 the United National Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) was formed, which includes as its mission fostering "genuine dialogue based upon respect for shared values and the dignity of each civilization and culture" to promote an environment of mutual respect and cooperation from the 191 countries affiliated with the agency ("About UNESCO," 2006). Similar in theme, the United Nations has just formed a new agency called Combat Social Ills through Sports Participation (UNCSITSP). This paper will outline the new agency's mission statement, goals and objectives while providing a brief description of a program model which would satisfy the stated objectives."
