The paper evaluates the opportunities that are available in promoting a caring theory in a given nursing environment. The paper states that it is expected that many individuals facing illness will benefit significantly from comprehensive care and support from their nurses, even when the diagnosis is terminal and will never improve. The paper explains that positive well being is the key to promoting positive nursing care methods.

From the Paper:

"In the nursing environment, it is necessary to always consider the humanistic side of this profession, as there are a number of philosophical beliefs that are highly relevant in this field. For example, the ability to demonstrate a high level of care for ill patients is a sign of character and many professional nurses are beneficial in offering their emotional support to patients in need. In discussing these relevant points, Jean Watson's theory of human caring is particularly important, as it designates nursing as a field that is designed to provide care and support for improving well being and contentment (McCance, McKenna, & Boore, 1999). The following discussion will evaluate a specific situation in nursing to which the Watson theory applies, paying particular attention to the relevancy of human care capabilities in promoting healthy outcomes for patients in distress."
