This paper explains that the corporate patenting of life forms is not only unethical, but that is not very practical, in legal or other business-oriented terms. In fact, a most interesting aspect of preparing this paper has been finding strong opposition to the patenting of life-forms that is expressed by widely different sources of opinion.
