The paper describes how, because nurses are forced into positions of care that can result in medical errors to patients, many nurses are therefore leaving the profession. The paper analyzes how the Quality of Nursing Care Act of 2004, and the Safe Nursing and Patient Care Act of 2005 were introduced as legislation in the United States Congress to address these issues.
