This paper presents the position of the church towards homosexuality, in genera,l and homosexual ministers, in particular. It focuses on the views of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) and some recent documents they published about this issue.
From the Paper:"The subject of homosexuality is widely-debated in our society, and has been the cause of many arguments, debates, and even hate crimes. Every single person in the United States is entitled to his or her opinion that is what makes this country so great. However, when you have millions of differing opinions, it becomes too easy for people to denounce certain opinions as "wrong." What many people do not realize is this: there is a difference between fact or faction and one's opinion. For instance, a Lutheran's perspective on homosexuality might be different from that of a Jewish person. Neither person's opinion is right or wrong; it's just how that person feels."
