Human Motivation and Group Work Human beings are driven to act through motivation. The motivation to work as an employee can come from both intrinsic and extrinsic sources. A person might be intrinsically motivated to work because he or she enjoys doing so, as it satisfies some kind of internal urge to be productive. A person might be extrinsically motivated, however, by the need to pay bills and by the people with whom they work. A disruptive employee can create a situation in which employees are unable to motivate themselves.
