Feminism is a mode of thought and a movement meant to address the disparate ways men and women are treated by law and in business and other social settings.The impetus for such a movement is the fact that women have long been given a secondary status in the social order. There is a range of feminist political thought, but the range is framed by those who seek equality for women to put them on a par with men while not completely upsetting the normal gender relations of marriage and family, and those who see men as the enemy and who seek a separation between men and women such as has never existed before.
