Description:

The web page/site focused on for this report is a product of ESPN and is located at http://espn.go.com/. The web page and site are usable, but are negatively impacted by the pop-ups that exist on the site and the consistent audio and video changes that occur on the page. This negative impacts occurs because of the user's inability to concentrate on one specific area of concern, with multiple areas of interest being displayed across the page. These multiple areas of interest, however, are broad, with the user being capable of becoming engrossed in the site and the field of sports and sports related information. This is accomplished because the layout of the page provides a variety of sections that can be explored, as well as a design that is active and draws in the attention of the user quickly and intentionally. While headings guide the focus of the viewer, the colors that are applied to the page prompt enthusiasm for sports, as well as a patriotic undertone that suggest that sport's minded individuals are masculine and devoted to their nation.
