Description:

This paper describes the broad scope covered by the discipline of psychology, explaining that it covers such a broad scope because it examines a wide range of phenomena such as sensation and perception, learning and memory, thinking and learning, motivation and emotion, personality and social behavior, child development, intelligence, mental illness, among others. The paper provides a brief description of each of the branches of psychology, explaining their application, study requirements, and even career opportunities.

From the Paper:

"There are several challenges faced by school psychologists. For instance, school psychologists are few in their areas of work; thus, offering services to a diverse student population can be extremely challenging(Canter, 2006). The workload is extremely huge and these school psychologists do not even have time to rest. Additionally, they face challenges of serving the school's community broader segment with their diminishing work force.
"One of the contributors of school psychology is Arnold Gesell. He played a significance role in linking the gap between clinical psychology, child study movement and special education. He successfully managed to combine education and psychology by assessing children and making recommendations to facilitate special teaching(Canter, 2006)."
