From the Paper:

"Civil Engineering Technology (CET) is the practical application of civil engineering and architectural scientific principles for the purpose of design and field construction. CET students typically enjoy the team concepts of working with others and combining computer skills with design principles to design, estimate, layout and supervise construction projects. Students spend considerable time developing computer skills in AutoCAD and related civil software in surveying, structural design and architectural design. These engineering and computer skills are enhanced with comprehensive instruction in mathematics, science, engineering analysis and technical writing to provide the graduate with the solid foundation required to meet the varied and rapidly changing high-tech requirements in today's job market.
"In the years ahead, there will be an ever increasing need for technicians and engineers who have the broad technical and communication skills necessary to bring construction projects to successful completion. Civil engineer technicians must be skilled in the latest computer technologies, have a sound math and science background, possess a working knowledge of construction materials, methods and management plus the design aspects and site layout of both residential and light commercial facilities."
