This paper discusses the history of the C++ computer program and its creator, Bjarne Stroustrup. The paper details the program's features and examines its predecessors and their shortcomings. The paper concludes with a discussion of future applications of C++.
From the Paper:"The C language forked numerous times however, creating a situation where there were numerous iterations of it available and in use. Thus, a committee gathered with ANSI to establish a standard version in use, which was accomplished in 1989. The C programming language is portable and not tied to any particular operating system, much like an independent IRA is to future-planning funds. The program combines the high-level language functions alongside the utility of assembly language, which has also been classified as middle-level computer language."
