In this paper, the character elements of the tragic hero have been compared and contrasted in Death of a Salesman by Arthur Miller and Oedipus Rex by Sophocles. The similarity of Loman and Oedipus's self-dignity as heroes is evident in their ability to fend for their families and their honor.
