From the Paper:

"At a parent-teacher meeting where I was moderator several issues arose involving exclusion based on race, gender, and disabilities. On one side there were perceptions that the school operates on a hierarchy of priorities, discriminating in favor of white males. On the other was the assertion that none of the issues apply since the only institutional goal is to prevent obesity. The relevant ethical principles for this situation were justice, benevolence, and respect for persons. The basic problem was isolated as standards, and the solution was identified as new standards."
