The paper explains that Stevens' motivation for writing this book is to help the reader rediscover some of the missing links in American History. The paper looks at how the book is filled with many interesting stories of how women played a crucial role in the establishment of the country. The writer points out that Stevens has collected many photographs and sketches to describe each of the events to help revive the lost legends and give back recognition to those that should have been recognized for the first pieces of our American History.
