This paper provides a review Alan Sears' work "Retooling the Mind Factory - Education in a Lean State." The paper notes that the book explained what is faulty in revised Ontario education dating from the 1990s in an orientation of training for the new globalized economy as opposed to genuine education. He spells out well known difficulties of limited access to higher education, the rise of an Education industry, new attitudes towards work, child raising and all matters of consumerism. However, Sears fails to recommend a strong solution.
