In this paper, the writer summarizes the article "Whiteness and Ethnocentric Monoculturalism: Making the "Invisible" Visible" and provides a brief analysis of its content. The writer then offers a personal view on the article and opines that the author's tone and continuous assault upon white society for being discriminatory, and being wholly blind to this, is rather excessive; society has affirmative action in place to work against discrimination. The writer relates three strategies he would implement in the classroom that would eliminate any trace of discrimination or prejudice.

From the Paper:

"The article as a whole discussed the realities of discrimination across the globe, in particular the reasons behind the author's perceived advantage which whites have over other races. This discrimination is furthered by the concept of ethnocentric monoculturalism. Ethnocentric means to be focused upon one's own race, with monoculturalism being the belief that individual's subjective race be superior to others. Considering the influences of belief upon reality, Wing asserts that it is damaging to the world as a whole that races all believe themselves to be superior, and thus propagate discrimination."
