This paper analyzes an article which details a study regarding tourists' characteristics in choosing to visit the Chinese gateway cities of Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou. The paper describes how the study utilized methods from cross-cultural psychology, and examined other demographic data of tourists from the U.K., U.S., Japan, and China. The paper relates that the conclusion of the article is that reasoning seemed consistent to brand Beijing and Shanghai as gateway cities, but was less convincing regarding Ghuangzhou.
