Description:
This paper reviews, critiques and summarizes the sampling strategies, excavation methods and finds analyses of Marek et al.'s publication entitled "Excavations at Ferriter's Cove, 1983-95." According to the paper, this article reports about the excavations of what is likely to be the westernmost prehistoric settlement in Europe, which took place between 1983 and 1995 in Ireland under the direction of Peter Woodman and his colleagues. The paper further describes various aspects of the dig reported in the article, such as the archaeological finds from the site and various methods used to sort and analyze the artifacts. It also explores questions raised from the dig, such as whether this was a Mesolithic or Neolithic culture. The paper concludes that the excavations reported have added much to the already existing knowledge in the study of the Mesolithic period of history in Ireland.

Additionally increasing the complexity is adding the fact that Woodman holds that there is not an overlap of the Mesolithic and Neolithic settlement, yet he still allows for up to 500 conventional or calibrated radiocarbon years of coexistence between..."Sample of Sources Used:
