Article Review: The Jihadis Among Us Article Review by Top Papers

This paper looks at a newspaper article appearing in the National Post that argues for a stronger stance towards home-grown terrorist threats - though the article seemingly is of the view that only Muslims constitute a legitimate threat to the Canadian state. In any case, this paper looks at the article and places it within the following equity issue; specifically, the Canadian youth are peculiarly drawn to terrorism and should equity issue at stake here is the perception that Muslim-be viewed with suspicion whenever the subject turns to domestic terrorism. As time allows, this paper summarizes the article and its point of view; what are its main points - and its chief objective; place within its proper historical context the inequity manifested by the article; and, finally, whether or not the article advances or inhibits progress on social equity. In the final analysis, the paper argues that the association of Islam with terrorism (to the exclusion of any other relationship) suggests that the article inhibits efforts at social equity.
